Offer to leave behind a printed treatment at the end of a pitch meeting. Pitch the show synopsis if asked for more details or if in a pitch meeting, but customize the information to make the strongest impact. Pitch the plot summary when in person and you need something quick. Treatment (I consider a show's treatment for presentation to others as being the collection of the show title, the plot summary, the synopsis, some information from the bible on the lead characters only and a modified presentation of two or three episodes from the episode guide as examples.)

It's Season 9 Episode 06 called "The Merv Griffin Show" The above is the "blurb" for one of my favorite episodes of Seinfeld. Kramer rebuilds the set of the Merv Griffin Show in his apartment. Jerry's new girlfriend has a toy collection. If you remember it, think of the episode logline as being the blurb you read in TV Guide. What you are calling a "logline" might be more suited for an episode description versus the entire sitcom universe. The plot facts changed, but the premise did not. In the first example, Coach dies, but Woody comes along. The issue is that in 20/20 hindsight, we have all the facts to make a more complete show summary. So those are just general sitcom plot summaries.

I will give a few examples, and you can tell me if you recognize the show. It can be one sentence long or several sentences. In general, a sitcom does not have a "logline" but, instead has a premise or "plot summary" that is an overall look at the universe. A show can have self-contained episodes that are a riff off the basic premise and/or they can have a story arc that is its own, unique, driving force. There is no single answer to your question because, as with everything Hollywood, the entire thing is fluid and there are always exceptions to the rules.
Since sitcoms are what I enjoy trying to tackle the most, I will weigh in on your question.
